July Flew By
Jarrett started out the month visiting Peter Nevins in Colorado with his buddies Ed & Phil. They had a great time hanging out doing guy stuff. Their adventures included a mountain hike and watching a Rockies game.
Our nephew Jackson Wade Horne was born on July 2nd. We have made several trips out to visit the new
family. It has been fun already to have the cousins together and we look forward to the years ahead raising them up as good buddies and friends. The new family is settling in to their new lives nicely.

Laura started back to work while Jarrett was gone. It has been a smooth transition. Work itself has gone well for her, but the preparation for those days is more then expected. The routine for those days is getting easier. Silas enjoys the undivided attention of very loving family & and friends while mom is away.

Silas has been growing like a weed and is 15lbs. He is laughing and has become ticklish. He also just

started rolling over from his stomach to his back. He also gets onto his side from his back, but has not yet figured out how to shift his weight to get onto his stomach. Although he would probably prefer to not end up on his stomach. He also seems to scoot and spin around by lifting up his bottom with his legs, you never know what position you will find him in these days after a nap. Silas has also started teething leading to a lot of chewing o

n his hands and drool on everything. He is getting over a cold right now that he shared with his mom. At the beginning of his cold he had pink eye which lead us to the doctor for the first sick child appointment. He did very well letting mom put in his eye drops, which cleared up his eyes quickly.

Silas had his first plane ride and vacation last week as we spent time out in Rhode Island with the Garrison family. We are grateful for their hospitality while we visited at their vacation home on the bay. We had a wonderful time visiting, boating, sailing, shopping, relaxing, and eating (including fresh lobster!!!). Time there was a good break from busy normal life and filled with encouragement and fellowship.

While out east, we were also able to meet up with Laura’s Uncle Danny, Aunt Lisa, & cousin Claire. We enjoyed the New England Aquarium & wondering the streets of Boston. They were able to meet Silas and enjoy his company at dinner at a quaint little Italian restaurant. Unfortuntely we missed the opportunity to get pictures of Silas with them (he was asleep when we had the cameras out). I guess that just means we will have to see them soon.
