Finally an update (mostly about Silas)
Spring is on it way to settle for the season (we hope) and Silas’ first Birthday is just around the corner. This first year flew by, and I have not updated the blog as often as I would have liked. Here is where we are now. Silas is about 21.5lbs by our home scale. Silas is pushing chairs and things around walking. He is up the stairs in a blink of the eye. He has pretty much given up baby food and loves almost everything offered to him to eat, as long as it is not too bland or too spicy. He has spent most of this year so far fighting one cold after another. He is still usually a very happy, easygoing boy. He has 8 front teeth and working on a molar or two. His vocabulary comprehension is growing and he is starting to use da/daaaad & ma/maaam appropriately. His sign language is slow coming still only doing all done and an occasional more; we’re still working on please and thank you. He loves giving kisses, high 5’s, and waving bye-bye (or by when used in a book). He also can point to other people’s nose and mouth. He likes to play with toys that rattle or play music. Although, his favorite toy is a fisher-price fire truck that makes no noise and is missing all its accessories. Jarrett and I just enjoy spending time with him and look forward to exploring the outside with him as the weather continues to get nicer.
Over the winter we got a few good snows, which allowed us to get Silas out to play in it and pull him around in his sled. Silas also enjoyed his first Christmas, probably the wrapping paper the best. He was also dedicated at our church just after the beginning of the year. The season was a wonderful time of spending time with family and friends.
Jarrett got me an early Birthday present, something I have been wanting for a while and we gave it a try the other night…so here is the first of more to come! A video of Silas walking with his push toy done with my new Flip video camera. Thanks Bubba.
